Roasted Ukrainian Cashew Pastry
A traditional Ukrainian pastry filled with a delicious mixture of roasted cashews, perfect as a snack or dessert.
Ingredients
- ●1 package (thawed) Pastry doughAvailable in most supermarkets
- ●1 cup CashewsRoasted in a 350°F oven for 10 minutes
- ●1/2 cup Granulated sugar
- ●1 large EggsBeaten for egg wash
- ●1 tablespoon Milk

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roll out the pastry dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.

In a bowl, mix together the roasted cashews, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt.

Place the mixture in the center of the pastry dough, leaving a 1-inch border around it.

Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg for a golden glaze.

Fold the pastry over the filling, pressing the edges to seal.

Brush the top of the pastry with the remaining egg wash.

Place the pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
