Tunisian Fish Tagine
A hearty, flavorful North African-inspired stew made with tender fish and aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- β1 pound, cut into 1-inch pieces Fish (such as cod or tilapia)
- β2 teaspoons Tunisian spice blend
- β2 tablespoons Olive oil
- β1 medium, chopped Onion
- β2 cloves, minced Garlic
- β1 can (14.5 oz), diced Tomatoes
- β1 cup Fish broth
- β1 tablespoon Honey
- β2 tablespoons Lemon juice
- β1/4 cup, chopped Fresh parsley
- β1/2 teaspoon Smoked paprika

Heat oil in the bottom of a large clay or ceramic tagine or Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add fish and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Add Tunisian spice blend, tomatoes, fish broth, honey, and lemon juice.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, until fish is cooked through and sauce has thickened, about 10-15 minutes.

Stir in smoked paprika and parsley.

Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
