Portuguese-Style Chilli
A spicy chilli dish with a Portuguese twist, served with crusty bread.
Ingredients
- β2 Birds eye chilliessliced
- β1 can Portuguese robusto chilli beans
- β1 Onionchopped
- β1 Portuguese spiced sausagesliced
- β1 tsp Cumin
- β2 tbsp Tomato paste
- β2 Tomatoeschopped
- β2 tbsp Olive oil
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black pepper
Instructions

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 4-5 minutes.

Add the sliced chillies and cook for a further 2 minutes.

Add the cumin, tomato paste and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the can of chilli beans and stir to combine.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley or coriander.

Serve with crusty bread or over rice.
