Jamaican Beef Stew
A rich and flavorful Jamaican-inspired stew made with tender beef and a variety of spices. Perfect for a cozy dinner or romantic evening.
Ingredients
- β1.5 pounds beef stew meatcut into 1.5-inch cubes
- β1 large romantic red bell peppersliced
- β2 tablespoons rich all-purpose flour
- β1 tablespoon jamaican jerk seasoning
- β2 tablespoons tomato paste
- β1 can (14.5 oz) stew tomatoesdiced

Season the beef with salt, pepper, and jerk seasoning.

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Brown the beef in batches, about 5 minutes per batch.

Add the sliced red bell pepper and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.

Add the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Add the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Add the browned beef, stew tomatoes, and enough water to cover the beef. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 2 hours, or until the beef is tender.
