Shrimp and Garlic Paella
A classic Spanish dish with succulent shrimp, garlic, and saffron-infused rice. Perfect for a dinner party or special occasion.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Shrimp (gambas)
- β4 cloves Garlic (ajillo)
- β1/2 teaspoon Saffron threads
- β1 cup Spanish rice
- β1/2 pound Chorizo, sliced
- β1 Red bell pepper, diced
- β1 Tomato, diced
- β2 tablespoons Olive oil
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black pepper

Heat the olive oil in a large paella pan over medium-high heat.

Add the sliced chorizo and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes.

Add the diced red bell pepper and cook until tender, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the diced tomato and cook until the liquid has evaporated, about 5 minutes.

Add the shrimp and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Add the garlic and saffron threads, and cook for 1 minute.

Add the Spanish rice and stir to combine with the vegetable mixture.

Cook the rice for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20-25 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the liquid has been absorbed.
