Filipino-Style Bistek
A classic Filipino dish made with marinated beef steaks, cooked to perfection and served with a side of steamed vegetables.
Ingredients

- β1/4 cup Savory soy sauce
- β2 tablespoons Gooey brown sugar
- β4 cloves Filipino garlic
- β1 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
- β2 tablespoons Freshly squeezed calamansi juiceoptional
- β1/4 cup Freshly chopped scallionsoptional

1. In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and black pepper to make the marinade.

2. Add the sliced beef to the marinade and mix well to coat. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

3. Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.

4. Remove the beef from the marinade, letting any excess liquid drip off.

5. Add the beef to the preheated skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness.
