Crispy Sesame Chicken Norval
A crispy and flavorful chicken dish with a nutty sesame taste, inspired by the cuisine of Southeast Asia.
Ingredients
- β1 lb chicken breast
- β2 tbsp sesame seeds
- β1/4 cup coconut oil
- β1/4 cup crispy fried shallots
- β2 tbsp soy sauce
- β1 tbsp honey
- β1 tbsp rice vinegar
- β2 cloves garlic
- β1-inch piece ginger
- β1 tsp norvalNote: Norval is a mystery ingredient. Assume its a spice or herb.

1. In a blender or food processor, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Blend until smooth.

2. Add the sesame seeds to the blender and blend until well combined.

3. In a large bowl, whisk together the sesame oil and soy sauce mixture.

4. Add the chicken to the bowl and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

5. Preheat the oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

6. Remove the chicken from the marinade and coat with crispy fried shallots.

7. Place the chicken on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

8. Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.

9. While the chicken is baking, heat the coconut oil in a small saucepan over medium heat.

10. Add the sesame seeds to the saucepan and cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant.

11. Remove the chicken from the oven and brush with the sesame oil mixture.
