Venezuelan Arepa Grilled Cheese
A twist on the classic grilled cheese, featuring sweet Venezuelan arepas, shattering parmesan, and creamy grana.
Ingredients
- β2 Venezuelan Arepasstore-bought or homemade
- β2 slices Grana Cheesesuch as Parmigiano-Reggiano
- β2 slices Padano Cheesesuch as Provolone or Cheddar
- β1/4 cup Shattering Parmesansuch as Parmigiano-Reggiano
- β2 tablespoons Unsalted Buttermelted

1. Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium heat.

2. Butter one side of each arepa.

3. Place one arepa, buttered side down, on the griddle.

4. Place one slice of grana cheese on top of the arepa.

5. Place one slice of Padano cheese on top of the grana cheese.

6. Place the second arepa, buttered side up, on top of the cheese.

7. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown.

8. Flip the arepa and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes or until the other side is also golden brown.

9. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.

10. Slice the arepa in half and serve immediately.
