Classic Portuguese Paella
A traditional Portuguese dish that is an absolute crowd pleaser, perfect for a family dinner or a big gathering.
Ingredients
- β1 pound, boneless and cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces Lamb
- β1 cup Paella Rice
- β1 large, sliced Red Bell Pepper
- β1 large, chopped Onion
- β2 medium, diced Tomato
- β1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
- β2 cloves, minced Garlic
- β2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large paella pan or skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the lamb and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the sliced red bell pepper and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the diced tomato, smoked paprika, garlic, salt, and black pepper.

Stir well to combine, then add the paella rice.

Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the rice is coated in the oil and slightly toasted.

Add 2 3/4 cups of water to the pan and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid has been absorbed.

Remove the pan from the heat and let it rest, covered, for 5 minutes before serving.
