North African Chicken Tagine
A slow-cooked Indian-inspired dish made with tender chicken thighs and aromatic spices, perfect for a cozy dinner.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds chicken thighsbone-in, skin-on
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 large onionchopped
- β2 inches gingergrated
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 teaspoon cumin powder
- β1 teaspoon coriander powder
- β1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- β1/2 teaspoon salt
- β1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Heat oil in a large clay pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add ginger and garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add cumin, coriander, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute.

Add chicken thighs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add 1 cup of water to the pot and bring to a boil.

Cover the pot and transfer it to the oven.

Bake at 300Β°F (150Β°C) for 30 minutes.
