Smoky Chicken Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic North African-inspired dish made with smoky chicken, Japanese spices, and served over clay-cooked rice.
Ingredients
- β1.5 lbs Chicken Thighs
- β2 tbsp Japanese Sesame Oil
- β1 tsp Smoked Paprika
- β1 tsp Cumin
- β1 tsp Coriander
- β1 tsp Salt
- β1/2 tsp Black Pepper
- β1 cup Rice
- β2 cups Chicken Broth
- β1 cup Dried Apricots
Instructions

Heat the pot over medium heat.

Add 1 tbsp of Japanese sesame oil and swirl to coat the pot.

Add the Chicken Thighs and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes.

Add the smoked paprika, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute.

Add the Chicken Broth and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 20 minutes.

Add the dried apricots and cook for an additional 10 minutes.

Serve the chicken and sauce over the clay-cooked rice.
