Smoked Portuguese Potatoes Gratin
A delicious, creamy side dish that combines the flavors of smoked potatoes and ashen gratin.

- β1 cup Portuguese Cheesegrated
- β1/2 cup Ashen Creamheavy cream
- β2 tablespoons Butterunsalted
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper
- βchopped Fresh Parsleyoptional

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large saucepan, combine sliced potatoes and enough cold water to cover them.

Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 5 minutes.

Drain potatoes and set them aside.

In a separate saucepan, combine grated cheese, heavy cream, and butter.

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth.

In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, create a layer of potatoes.

Pour some of the cheese sauce over the potatoes, then sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.

Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used up, finishing with a layer of cheese sauce on top.
