Smoky Stew
A hearty and flavorful stew made with smoky bacon, chewy kabanos sausage, and tender beef.
Ingredients
- β6 slices Smoky baconcut into 1-inch pieces
- β1 pound Chewy kabanos sausagesliced
- β2 pounds Beef stew meatcut into 1.5-inch cubes
- β1 large Onionchopped
- β2 medium Carrotpeeled and chopped
- β2 large Potatopeeled and chopped
- β2 cups Stewhomemade or store-bought
- β2 cups Beef brothlow-sodium
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black pepper

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add bacon and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Remove bacon and set aside.

Add beef to the pot and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add onion, carrot, and potato to the pot and cook until the vegetables are tender, about 10 minutes.

Add stew, beef broth, salt, and pepper to the pot.

Stir to combine, then add the cooked bacon back into the pot.

Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 1.5 hours, or until the beef is tender.
