Smoky Ukrainian Stew
A hearty and flavorful stew originating from Ukraine, made with smoky flavors and dense ingredients.
Ingredients
- β2 medium carrots
- β3 large potatoes
- β1 lb smoky sausagesuch as kielbasa or Ukrainian sausage
- β1 large onionschopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 lb stew meatsuch as beef or pork
Instructions

Heat a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Remove the sausage and set aside.

Add the onions and garlic to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the stew meat and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the carrots and potatoes to the pot and cook for 5 minutes.

Add 2 cups of beef broth to the pot and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 1 hour.

Return the sausage to the pot and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
