Smoky Tamarind Chicken Tagine
A Japanese-inspired twist on the traditional Moroccan tagine, featuring smoky chicken and sweet tamarind sauce.
Ingredients
- β4-6 pounds Chicken Thighs
- β2 tablespoons Smoky Spice Blend
- β2 tablespoons Tamarind Paste
- β2 tablespoons Algerian Olive Oil
- β1 tablespoon Molten Ginger
- β1/4 cup Sesame Seeds
- β2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
- β2 cups Rice
- β1/4 cup Green Onions

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a small bowl, mix together the Smoky Spice Blend, Tamarind Paste, and Molten Ginger.

Rub the spice blend mixture all over the chicken thighs, making sure to coat them evenly.

Heat the Algerian Olive Oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Sear the chicken thighs until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside.

In the same pot, add the Sesame Seeds and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add the Soy Sauce and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Return the chicken to the pot and cover with a lid.

Transfer the pot to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
