Smoky Canadian Gratin Casserole
A hearty, smoky casserole made with roasted Canadian bacon, creamy cheese, and a crispy gratin topping.
Ingredients
- β6 slices Canadian baconthick-cut
- β1 cup shredded Smoked cheddar cheesesharp
- β2 large, peeled and thinly sliced Roasted potatoesabout 1 pound
- β1 medium, thinly sliced Onionabout 1 cup
- β3 cloves, minced Garlicabout 1 tablespoon
- β2 tablespoons All-purpose flourfor dusting
- β1 cup Gratin toppingsee below

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large skillet, cook Canadian bacon over medium-high heat until browned, about 5 minutes. Set aside.

In the same skillet, add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.

In a separate saucepan, combine shredded cheese and 1/2 cup milk. Heat over low heat, stirring until cheese is melted and smooth.

In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, arrange a layer of potatoes. Top with a layer of cooked bacon, followed by a layer of onion mixture, and finally a layer of cheese sauce. Repeat this process until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese sauce on top.

Dust the top of the casserole with flour and sprinkle with gratin topping.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is hot and bubbly.
