Russian Smoky Cabbage Soup

Ingredients
- β6 slices smoky baconchop into small pieces
- β2 medium heads roasted cabbageshred into small pieces
- β1 large head cabbagechop into small pieces
- β2 medium carrotchop into small pieces
- β1 large onionchop into small pieces
- β2 large potatochop into small pieces
- β4 cups soup brothhomemade or store-bought
- βto taste saltadd to taste

In a large pot, cook the smoky bacon over medium heat until crispy.

Remove the cooked bacon from the pot and set aside.

Add the chopped onion to the pot and cook until softened.

Add the chopped carrot and potato to the pot and cook for 5 minutes.

Add the shredded roasted cabbage and chopped cabbage to the pot.

Pour in the soup broth and bring the mixture to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes.
