Braised Pork with Smoky Flavor
A hearty, comforting dish featuring slow-cooked pork in a rich, smoky sauce.
Ingredients

- β2 teaspoons smoky paprika
- β1 medium savory onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 cup braised red wine
- β1 cup beef broth
- β2 tablespoons brown sugar
- β2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 teaspoon salt
- β1 teaspoon black pepper

Heat olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Sear the pork shoulder until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Reduce heat to medium and add the chopped onion to the pot. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

Add the braised red wine, beef broth, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, smoky paprika, salt, and black pepper to the pot.

Return the pork shoulder to the pot and bring the contents to a boil.

Cover the pot with a lid and transfer to the oven.

Braise the pork in the preheated oven for 2-3 hours, or until tender and easily shredded with a fork.

Remove the pot from the oven and let the pork rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Strain the braising liquid and discard the solids. Skim off excess fat and serve the sauce over the sliced pork.
