Dutch Apple Crumble
A classic dessert made with tender apples, a crunchy oat topping, and a hint of cinnamon.
Ingredients
- β6 medium ApplesA mix of Granny Smith and Gala works well
- β1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
- β1 cup Granulated sugar
- β1/2 cup Cold unsalted butterCut into small pieces
- β1 cup OatsRolled oats work well
- β1/2 cup Brown sugar
- β1 tsp Cinnamon

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Peel, core, and slice the apples. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Mix until the apples are evenly coated.

Transfer the apple mixture to a 9x9-inch baking dish.

In a separate mixing bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, and cold butter. Use your fingers or a pastry blender to work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Spread the crumb mixture evenly over the top of the apple filling.

Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
