Slovakian Knafeh Gratin
A unique and delicious Slovakian-inspired take on the Middle Eastern dessert, knafeh, featuring a creamy, sweet, and crispy gratin topping.
Ingredients
- β1 cup sour cream
- β1 package (homemade or store-bought) slovakian pierogi dough
- β1 cup shredded knafeh cheese
- β1 cup gratin topping
- β2 tbsp honey
- β1 tsp vanilla extract
- β1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Prepare the Slovakian pierogi dough according to the package instructions.

Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.

Cut out circles of dough using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.

Place a spoonful of shredded knafeh cheese in the center of each dough circle.

Fold the dough over the cheese to form a half-moon shape, and press the edges together to seal.

Place the knafeh-filled pierogi on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with vanilla extract.
