Egyptian Stir Fry
A flavorful and quick stir fry dish from Egypt, featuring tender meat and crunchy vegetables.
Ingredients
- β500g Tender meatYou can use beef, chicken or lamb.
- β250ml Indulgent tomato sauceHomemade or store-bought, your choice.
- β1 tsp Egyptian spicesUse cumin, coriander, and paprika for a traditional flavor.
- β2 tbsp Stir-fry oilVegetable or canola oil works well.
- β1/2 Sour lemonJuice of half a lemon, for serving.
- β1 Chopped onionsUse 1 medium onion, chopped.
- β2 Chopped bell peppersUse 2 medium bell peppers, chopped.
Instructions

Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.

Add the chopped onions and cook until they're translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the chopped bell peppers and cook for another 3-4 minutes, until they're tender.

Add the tender meat and cook until it's browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.

Add the Egyptian spices and stir-fry oil, and cook for 1 minute.

Add the indulgent tomato sauce and stir to combine.

Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve the stir fry hot, garnished with a squeeze of sour lemon juice.
