Algerian Chestnut Tagine
A hearty and flavorful stew from North Africa, perfect for a chilly evening. This Algerian Chestnut Tagine combines the sweetness of chestnuts with the richness of spices.
Ingredients
- β2 cups, peeled and chopped Chestnuts
- β2 tsp, ground cumin Spicy
- β1 tsp, ground coriander Algerian
- β1 tsp, smoked paprika Adventurous
- β1/2 cup, chopped fresh parsley Bouncy
- β2 tbsp, olive oil qq
- β1 large onion, chopped tagine

Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the cumin, coriander, and smoked paprika. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Add the chopped chestnuts and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20-25 minutes or until the chestnuts are tender.

Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt and pepper to taste.
