Tunisian Chickpea Tagine Stew
A flavorful and aromatic North African-inspired stew made with chickpeas, spices, and a hint of sweetness from tunisian ingredients.
Ingredients
- β1 can (14 oz) chickpeas
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β2 teaspoons tunisian spice blend
- β1 teaspoon ground cumin
- β1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- β2 medium sweet potatoesdiced
- β1 taginefor stew
Instructions

Heat the oil in the bottom of the tagine or a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add the chickpeas, tunisian spice blend, cumin, and chili powder. Stir to combine.

Add the sweet potatoes and stir to coat with the spice mixture.
