Middle Eastern Date Pilaf
A flavorful and aromatic pilaf dish from the Middle East, featuring the sweetness of stoned dates.
Ingredients
- ●1 cup pilaf ricepreferably jasmine or basmati
- ●1 cup stoned datespitted and chopped
- ●2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- ●1 medium onionchopped
- ●2 cloves garlicminced
- ●1 teaspoon cumin
- ●1 teaspoon coriander

Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and sauté until lightly browned.

Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.

Add the cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper, and stir to combine.

Add the pilaf rice and stir to coat with the spice mixture.

Add 1 1/2 cups of water and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the water is absorbed.
