Saudi Arabian Mushroom Pilaf
A flavorful and aromatic Middle Eastern dish made with sautéed mushrooms and served over a bed of rice pilaf.
Ingredients
- ●1 cup saudi riceuncooked
- ●1 cup mushroomsliced
- ●1 tsp arabian spice blendstore-bought or homemade
- ●1 medium sweet onionchopped
- ●1 tsp pilafdried
- ●2 tbsp olive oilfor cooking
- ●to taste saltoptional
- ●to taste black pepperoptional
Instructions

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the chopped sweet onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they release their liquid and start to brown, about 5 minutes.

Add the Arabian spice blend, pilaf, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir well to combine.

Add the uncooked rice to the saucepan and stir to coat the rice with the spice mixture.

Add 2 cups of water to the saucepan and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid, and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the liquid has been absorbed.

Fluff the pilaf with a fork and serve hot.

Optional: garnish with chopped fresh herbs, such as parsley or cilantro, for added flavor and texture.
