Sweet and Smoky Adobong Fritters
A twist on traditional Filipino adobo, these fritters combine the sweetness of gruyere with the smokiness of chipotle peppers.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- β1/2 cup gruyere cheeseshredded
- β2 sweet plantainsmashed
- β1/4 cup sweet chili peppersdiced
- β2 tbsp chipotle peppers in adobo sauceminced
- β1 eggsbeaten
- β1 cup fritters store-bought or homemade

Heat oil in a deep frying pan to 350Β°F (175Β°C).

In a large bowl, combine flour, shredded gruyere, mashed plantains, diced chili peppers, and minced chipotle peppers.

Add beaten eggs to the bowl and mix until a dough forms.

If using store-bought fritters, skip to step 5. Otherwise, shape dough into balls and flatten slightly into patties.

Dredge fritters in flour, shaking off excess.

Fry fritters in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
