Spicy Chicken Tagine
A classic Moroccan-inspired dish with a twist of spice, featuring chicken cooked in a flavorful tagine with algerian spices.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds chicken breasts
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β2 teaspoons algerian spice blend
- β1 teaspoon sweet paprika
- β1 teaspoon ground cumin
- β1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- β1/2 teaspoon salt
- β1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- β1 large chopped onion
- β1 large chopped bell pepper

Heat oil in a large tagine or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add onion and bell pepper and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.

Add algerian spice blend, sweet paprika, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.

Add 1 cup of water to the tagine and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20-25 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.
