Portuguese Egg Tart
A traditional Portuguese dessert consisting of an egg custard baked in a flaky pastry crust.
Ingredients

- ●4 eggsroom temperature
- ●1/2 cup sugar
- ●1 cup portuguese egg tart filling
- ●1/4 cup unsalted buttermelted
- ●1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

Roll out the tart shell and place it in a 9-inch tart pan.

In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, and Portuguese egg tart filling until well combined.

Pour the egg mixture into the tart shell.

Dot the top of the tart with melted butter.

Sprinkle salt over the top of the tart.

Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce the oven temperature to 375°F (190°C) and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

Allow the tart to cool completely on a wire rack.

Serve chilled, garnished with powdered sugar if desired.
