Jamaican Stew
A flavorful and spicy Jamaican stew made with tantalizing meat and callaloo.
Ingredients
- β1 pound beefcut into 1-inch pieces
- β1 bunch callaloochopped
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β2 tablespoons tantalizing spice blendavailable at most Caribbean markets
- β1 teaspoon stew seasoningoptional
- β2 tablespoons all-purpose flourfor thickening
- β2 scotch bonnet peppersoptional, use gloves when handling
- β2 cups chicken brothhomemade or store-bought

Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.

Add beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Remove beef from pot and set aside.

Add onion, garlic, scotch bonnet peppers, and tantalizing spice blend to pot.

Cook until onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add callaloo, stew seasoning, and flour to pot.

Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Gradually add chicken broth to pot, whisking continuously.

Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.

Return beef to pot and cook until heated through.
