Sunday Beef Roast with Mexican Spices
A twist on the traditional British Sunday roast, infused with bold Mexican flavors and spices.
Ingredients
- β1.5 kg Beef roast
- β1 cup Tender British beef stock
- β2 tbsp British beef drippings
- β1 tsp Mexican oregano
- β1 tsp Cumin
- β1 tsp Smoked paprika
- β2 tbsp Brown sugar
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β1/4 cup Fresh cilantro
- β2 tbsp Lime juice

Preheat the oven to 200Β°C (400Β°F).

Season the beef roast with salt and black pepper.

In a large Dutch oven, heat the beef drippings over medium-high heat.

Sear the beef roast until browned on all sides, then set aside.

Add the onions, garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, and Mexican oregano to the pot.

Cook until the onions are softened, then add the beef stock and brown sugar.

Return the beef roast to the pot, cover with a lid, and transfer to the preheated oven.

Roast the beef for 2-3 hours, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.

Remove the pot from the oven and let the beef rest for 10-15 minutes.

Strain the juices and discard any excess fat.
