Tender Russian Pilaf
A flavorful and comforting pilaf dish inspired by Russian cuisine, made with tender beef and fluffy rice.
Ingredients
- β1 pound tender beefcut into 1-inch cubes
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 cup riceuncooked
- β1 teaspoon rice pilaf seasoningstore-bought or homemade
- β1/2 teaspoon saltto taste
- β1/4 teaspoon black pepperto taste
- β2 tablespoons vegetable oilfor cooking

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Remove beef from skillet and set aside.

Add onion and garlic to skillet and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Add rice and cook for 1-2 minutes, until lightly toasted.

Add pilaf seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.

Add beef back into the skillet and stir to combine with the rice mixture.

Add 2 cups of water to the skillet and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is tender.
