Spanish Pork Croquetas
A classic Spanish tapas dish made with tender pork and crispy breadcrumbs.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Ground Porktender pork
- β1 cup Breadcrumbspreferably Spanish
- β1/4 cup Olive Oilfor frying
- β1 medium Oniondiced
- β2 cloves Garlicminced
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper
- β1 large Egg

Preheat the oil in a deep frying pan to 350Β°F (175Β°C).

In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Add the egg to the pork mixture and mix until just combined.

Using your hands, shape the mixture into small oval shapes, about 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm) long.

Carefully place the croquetas in the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.

Fry the croquetas for 3-4 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and crispy.

Using a slotted spoon, remove the croquetas from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
