Japanese-Style Spring Sausage Ozoni
A hearty, comforting Japanese-inspired soup made with spring sausage, ozoni, and other savory ingredients.
Ingredients
- β1 pound, sliced Spring Sausage
- β2 cups, sliced OzoniJapanese-style rice cakes
- β1/2 pound, sliced Polish Sausageadds depth of flavor
- β1 cup, sliced Tender Mushroomssuch as shiitake
- β1/4 cup, chopped Green Onions
- β2 inches, sliced Ginger
- β2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
- β1 tablespoon Sesame Oil

In a large pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat.

Add sliced ginger and cook for 2 minutes.

Add sliced spring sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add sliced polish sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add sliced mushrooms and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.

Add ozoni, green onions, soy sauce, and 4 cups of water to the pot.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
