Indian Style German Pancakes
A twist on traditional German pancakes, this recipe adds an Indian flair with the use of toasted spices and tender yogurt.
Ingredients
- β2 cups 2 cups all-purpose flour
- β2 teaspoons 2 teaspoons yeastactive dry yeast
- β1/2 cup 1/2 cup warm milk
- β1 large 1 large egg
- β1/4 cup 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- β1/2 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon salt
- β2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
- β1/2 cup 1/2 cup plain yogurttender and fresh
- β1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon ground cinnamontoasted for depth
- β1/4 teaspoon 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamomoptional, for an extra kick

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, yeast, and sugar.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk, egg, and melted butter.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a smooth batter forms.

Add the yogurt, cinnamon, and cardamom (if using) to the batter and mix until well combined.

Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat.

Drop the batter by 1/4 cupfuls onto the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes, until bubbles appear on the surface.
