Beef Stew
A hearty and comforting beef stew made with tender beef, ukrainian potatoes and a rich broth.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Beef (stew meat)cut into 1-inch cubes
- β3 medium Ukrainian potatoespeeled and cubed
- β1 medium onion Tenderchopped
- β2 cloves Stewminced garlic
- β2 cups Water
- β1 cup Beef broth
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
Instructions

Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.

Brown the beef on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Remove the browned beef from the pot and set aside.

Add the chopped onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the beef broth, water, salt, and browned beef back to the pot.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 hours.

Add the cubed potatoes to the pot and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

Season with black pepper to taste.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh herbs if desired.
