German Braised Sausage Stew
A hearty German stew made with thick German sausage and cola-glazed potatoes, all slow-cooked to perfection. Serve with a side of crusty bread for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- β1 pound thick German sausage
- β1/4 cup colaused for glazing potatoes
- β3 large potatoespeeled and cubed
- β1 large onionchopped
- β2 medium carrotspeeled and sliced
- β2 stalks celerychopped
- β2 tablespoons tomato paste
- β2 cups stewbeef broth
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove the sausage from the pot and set aside.

Add the onion, carrots, and celery to the pot and cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.

Add the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute.

Add the cola, stew, salt, and pepper to the pot and stir to combine.

Return the sausage to the pot and bring the stew to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 30 minutes.

Add the potatoes to the pot and continue to simmer, covered, until the potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.
