Jamaican Beef Curry
A flavorful and aromatic curry dish with tender beef and the warmth of Jamaican spices.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds Beef (boneless chuck)
- β2 tablespoons Curry powder
- β1/4 cup Tropical curry sauce
- β2 Jamaican scotch bonnet peppersoptional
- β2 tablespoons Coconut oil
- β1 medium Onion
- β2 cloves Garlic
- β1-inch piece Ginger
- β2 tablespoons Tomato paste
- β1 cup Chicken broth
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Black pepper

1. Heat coconut oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

2. Add beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

3. Add onion, garlic, and ginger to the pot and cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

4. Add curry powder and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

5. Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1-2 minutes.

6. Add chicken broth, browned beef, and scotch bonnet peppers (if using). Bring to a boil, then cover and transfer to oven.

7. Braise beef in preheated oven at 300Β°F (150Β°C) for 2 1/2 hours, or until tender.

8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro and accompanied by steamed rice or roti.
