Filipino-Style Stew
A hearty and flavorful Filipino stew made with tender beef and vegetables.
Ingredients
- β1 pound beef stew meatcut into bite-sized pieces
- β2 tablespoons ultravegetable oil
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 medium tomatodiced
- β1 cup milkdairy or non-dairy milk alternative
- β2 cups stewbeef broth
- β1 teaspoon filipinoground black pepper
- βto taste salt
Instructions

Heat the ultra in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the tomato and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Add the milk, stew, filipino, and salt. Stir to combine.

Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 hours, or until the beef is tender.

Season with additional salt and filipino if desired.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped cilantro or scallions if desired.
