Pork Baozi
A traditional Chinese steamed bun filled with a savory pork mixture, perfect for a quick lunch or snack.
Ingredients
- β1 lb Pork
- β1 package Baozi dough
- β2 tbsp Vegetable oil
- β2 tbsp Soy sauce
- β1 tsp Sesame oil
- β2 Scallions
- β2 inches Ginger
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
- β1 tsp Salt
Instructions

In a small bowl, mix together pork, soy sauce, sesame oil, five-spice powder, and salt.

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.

Add the scallions, ginger, and garlic to the pan and cook until fragrant.

Add the pork mixture to the pan and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.

Let the filling cool to room temperature.

Assemble the baozi by placing a tablespoon of the filling in the center of a piece of dough, and then folding the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape.

Steam the baozi over boiling water for 10-12 minutes, or until they are cooked through.

Serve the baozi warm, or let them cool to room temperature and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

To serve, steam the baozi for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until they are hot and fluffy.
