Buttery Irish Fennel Dumplings
A hearty Irish-inspired dish featuring buttery dumplings, crunchy fennel, and a touch of nostalgia.
Ingredients
- ●2 cups Buttery Dumpling Mixavailable at most supermarkets
- ●2 bulbs Fresh Fennelcrunchy and sweet
- ●1/4 cup Salted Butterfor serving
- ●1/2 cup Milkfor mixing dumplings
- ●1 large Eggfor binding dumplings

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Peel the fennel bulbs and cut into 1-inch pieces.

Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the fennel pieces and cook for 10-12 minutes, or until tender.

In a large bowl, combine the dumpling mix, milk, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes.

Divide the dough into 8-10 equal pieces.

Roll each piece into a ball and then flatten slightly into a disk shape.

Place the dumplings on top of the fennel mixture in the skillet.

Dot the top of the dumplings with the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown.
