Pan-Seared Tilapia Tagine
A delicious and flavorful Kenyan-inspired dish featuring pan-seared tilapia in a savory tagine sauce.

- β1 medium OnionChopped
- β3 cloves GarlicMinced
- β2 inches GingerGrated
- β1 tsp Cumin powderGround
- β1/4 tsp Cayenne pepperGround

- β1 tsp Black pepperGround
- β1/4 cup Fresh cilantroChopped
- β1 cup Tagine sauce (homemade or store-bought)Adjust seasoning as needed

Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Season the tilapia fillets with salt, black pepper, cumin powder, and cayenne pepper.

Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet and cook for 1 minute.

Add the tilapia fillets to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

Transfer the tilapia to a plate and cover with foil to keep warm.

Reduce heat to medium and add the tagine sauce to the skillet. Stir to combine with the onion mixture.
