Bacalhau à Brás
A traditional Portuguese codfish dish from Lisbon, often served as a main course or side dish.
Ingredients
- ●12 oz Codfish (bacalhau)preferably salted
- ●2 medium Potatoespeeled and diced
- ●2 medium Onionschopped
- ●3 cloves Garlicminced
- ●4 large Eggsbeaten
- ●to taste Salt
- ●to taste Black pepper
- ●2 tbsp Olive oilfor frying
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onions and cook until they start to caramelize.

Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.

Add the diced potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes, or until they start to soften.

Add the codfish and cook for about 5 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with a fork.

Add the beaten eggs to the pan and stir to combine with the codfish and potatoes.

Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the eggs are cooked through.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
