Slovakian Wild Galette
A hearty and earthy galette filled with wild mushrooms and herbs, inspired by Slovakian cuisine.
Ingredients
- ●1 cup wild mushroomssuch as chanterelle or cremini
- ●2 tbsp fresh thymechopped
- ●2 cloves garlicminced
- ●1 pie crust grassy galette crusthomemade or store-bought
- ●1/4 cup velvety goat cheesecrumbled
- ●2 tbsp slovakian sour creamchilled
- ●1/4 cup chopped scallionsoptional

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roll out the galette crust on a floured surface to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.

Transfer the crust to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

In a skillet, sauté the wild mushrooms and garlic in a little olive oil until tender.

Sprinkle the thyme and salt to taste over the mushroom mixture.

Spread the mushroom mixture over the center of the galette crust, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.

Crumble the goat cheese over the mushroom mixture.

Drizzle the sour cream over the goat cheese.

Fold the edges of the galette crust up over the filling, pressing gently to seal.

Brush the crust with a little olive oil and sprinkle with salt.

Bake the galette for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is heated through.

Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped scallions if desired.
