Smoked Steak with Velvety Stew
A hearty steak dish paired with a rich, creamy stew. Perfect for a cold evening.
Ingredients
- β1.5 lbs Steak1.5-2 lbs porterhouse or ribeye
- β1 lb Portuguese Stew Meatsuch as beef or pork
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β1 tsp Smoked Paprikaadd depth to stew
- β1 cup Velvety Red Winesuch as Cabernet or Merlot
- β2 tbsp Tomato Pasteadds rich flavor
- β1 can Diced Tomatoes14.5 oz
- β1 tsp Chili Flakesadds spice
- βto taste Saltseasoning
- βto taste Black Pepperseasoning

1. Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

2. Season steak with salt and pepper. Sear in a skillet for 2-3 minutes per side.

3. Finish cooking steak in oven for 10-12 minutes to desired doneness.

4. While steak cooks, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.

5. Add stew meat and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

6. Add onion, garlic, smoked paprika, and chili flakes. Cook for 2 minutes.

7. Add red wine and bring to a boil.

8. Scrape up browned bits from skillet and add tomato paste.

9. Simmer stew for 20-25 minutes or until meat is tender.

10. Stir in diced tomatoes and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
