Spicy Algerian Lamb Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic stew originating from Algeria, made with lamb, spices, and dried fruits, perfect for a cold evening.
Ingredients
- β1.5 pounds Lamb shoulder
- β2 tablespoons Algerian spice blend
- β2 tablespoons Velvety olive oil
- β1 large Onion
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β1 cup Dried apricots
- β1 cup Dried prunes
- β2 cups Chicken broth
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Black pepper

Heat the olive oil in a large clay or ceramic tagine over medium heat.

Add the onion and cook until it is softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the garlic and cook for another minute.

Add the lamb and cook until it is browned on all sides.

Add the spice blend, salt, and pepper, and stir to combine.
