Vietnamese Chicken Pho
A classic Vietnamese noodle soup made with rich and flavorful chicken stock, velvety rice noodles, and tender ga (chicken) slices.
Ingredients
- β1 pound ga (chicken breast)cut into thin slices
- β1 package velvety rice noodles
- β4 cups pho brothstore-bought or homemade
- β1 medium onionsliced
- β2 inches gingersliced
- β2 tablespoons fish sauceoptional
- β1 tablespoon soy sauceoptional
- β1 tablespoon sugaroptional
- β1 cup bean sproutsoptional
- β4 lime wedgesoptional

Bring the pho broth to a boil in a large pot.

Reduce the heat to a simmer and add the sliced onion and ginger.

Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the onion is softened.

Add the sliced ga (chicken) to the pot and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.

Cook the velvety rice noodles according to the package instructions.

To assemble the pho, place some noodles in a bowl, then add slices of the ga (chicken) and onion.

Pour the hot pho broth over the top and add any desired toppings, such as bean sprouts and lime wedges.

Season with fish sauce, soy sauce, and sugar to taste.
