Pork Biryani with Vibrant Filipino Flair
A fusion of Filipino and Indian flavors, this pork biryani is a flavorful and aromatic dish that combines the spices of the East with the freshness of the Philippines.
Ingredients
- β1 pound pork shouldercut into 1-inch cubes
- β2 cups basmati riceuncooked
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1-inch piece gingergrated
- β1 teaspoon turmeric
- β1 teaspoon coriander powder
- β1 teaspoon cumin powder
- β1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- β1 cup coconut milk

Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add onions and cook until browned.

Add garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute.

Add pork and cook until browned. Remove from heat and set aside.

In a large pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1 minute.

Add rice to the pot and cook for 2 minutes.

Add coconut milk and 2 cups of water to the pot. Bring to a boil.
