Turkish Kisir Salad
A traditional Turkish salad made with bulgur, vegetables, and spices. Kisir is a refreshing and flavorful side dish or light meal.
Ingredients
- β1 cup bulgurcracked wheat
- β2 tablespoons kisirTurkish chili pepper paste
- β1 medium red oniondiced
- β2 medium tomatodiced
- β1/4 cup parsleychopped
- β2 tablespoons lemon juice
- β1 tablespoon olive oil
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper

In a large bowl, combine bulgur and 2 cups of water. Let it soak for 30 minutes.

Drain the bulgur and rinse it with cold water.

In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the kisir and cook for 1 minute.

Add the diced tomato and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Stir in the lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.

Add the cooked bulgur to the pan and stir to combine.

Transfer the mixture to a bowl and garnish with parsley.
