Egyptian Lentil Casserole
A hearty, comforting casserole filled with the flavors of Egypt. Perfect for a chilly evening.
Ingredients
- β2 tsp Warm Egyptian SpicesMix of paprika, cumin, coriander, and cayenne pepper
- β1 large Buttery OnionsCaramelized in butter until golden brown
- β1 cup LentilsGreen or brown lentils work well
- β1 sheet Casserole CrustPastry crust or puff pastry
- β2 cups Vegetable BrothLow-sodium broth for a flavorful base
- β1 tsp SaltTo taste
- β1 tsp Black PepperTo taste
- β1/4 cup Fresh ParsleyChopped for garnish
- β1/4 cup Feta CheeseOptional for extra flavor

Cook the lentils according to package instructions.

In a large skillet, caramelize the onions in butter until golden brown.
