Classic Canadian Macaroni Bake
A comforting, cheesy pasta bake that's perfect for a cold winter's night. This dish combines warm, comforting flavours with the familiarity of macaroni and cheese.
Ingredients
- β8 oz macaroni
- β2 tbsp unsalted butter
- β2 tbsp all-purpose flourgluten-free alternative: 2 tbsp cornstarch
- β2 cups milk
- β1 cup, shredded cheddar cheese
- β1/2 cup, shredded mozzarella cheese
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper
- β1 tsp warm spice blend

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Cook macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.

Add flour and whisk to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes.

Slowly add milk, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.

Bring mixture to a simmer and cook until thickened, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat and stir in cheddar and mozzarella cheese until melted and smooth.
